Hello

Welcome and thank you for visiting our California Communities website.

We are founded on the principals of providing value and experience to Boards and communities holistically.  We believe a successful community is created by partnerships between the owners, the Board, management company and vendors all working in harmony to create the home experience that we all want to enjoy.

My Story

People have always been at the heart of my work. My career began on the production line at the Dairy Bell ice cream factory in Melbourne bringing pallets of ice cream over to the front of house shop where milkshakes, ice cream scoops and happiness was given out to all!

In 2000 I attended job fair at my university which after speaking with multiple resort operators I had a great connection with Copper Mountain, and that conversation carried me to Colorado where I worked on the mountain and enjoyed the snow and outdoors in the winter, during this time I took my summers traveling the world on "round the world" airline tickets, Europe, Asia and then back through Australia for a short visit before jetting off again.  After a couple of years of travel and work, I settled and started working full time in HOA management as this was a year round occupation that was ever changing and had a huge amount of variety in each day which I thoroughly enjoy.

Most recently my career has led me to Northern California for a new chapter. I moved to NorCal with my prior employer in an executive role and continue my upward progression of my career and responsibilities with leading the business in 2025.

I founded California Communities as I kept returning to the same conviction: homeowners and boards deserve management that feels personal, capable, and genuinely caring. I wanted to build a company where communities receive the attention and support they need to thrive.

My introduction to the HOA world began by managing a timeshare community at Copper Mountain, where I drew on my hospitality background to create effortless, memorable experiences for owners and guests. Ensuring everyone could enjoy the pool, hot tub, and outdoor amenities after a day on the slopes showed me how thoughtful service makes daily life better. This experience where working onsite with vendors and board members taught me the lasting value of being present and building relationships.

Over the years I’ve invested in continuous learning and earned the PCAM credential in 2022, this is the highest level credential in the HOA industry, a peer‑reviewed case study to assist real communities that have fallen and these case studies provide those associations a plan to turn around their communities with the right guidance and advise.  This certification reflects rigorous experience and the highest standards of care.

I volunteer on various industry committees and speak at local CAI and CACM industry events and education seminars.  I contribute to the legislative efforts of CAI and CACM being on the legislative committee, serve on a CACM committee as a subject matter expert on HOAs, CACM Law Expo committee, and this year I’m honored to be a nominee for the CACM Board of Directors.

At California Communities we deliver meaningful results because of two things: people and partnerships. We maintain a dedicated, experienced vendor network that includes trusted local staff—maintenance professionals, tradespeople, and service providers who know Alameda and the island neighborhoods. Those local relationships mean faster service, better-quality work, and a team that understands the character and needs of your community.

My approach is simple and consistent: clear communication, ongoing education, and timely follow-through. I saw my experience that there are gaps in how technology, responsiveness, and personalization were being balanced, so I set out to do it differently.

California Communities prioritizes accuracy, responsiveness, and a human touch. We stand out through the relationships we build and by making every interaction straightforward and respectful of your time.

If your board wants a partner who listens, acts, and stewards your community with care—especially here in Alameda and on the island—I would welcome the conversation.
