My Story
I founded California Communities because I saw a recurring gap in the industry: homeowners and boards were being forced to choose between "big-box" corporate management and outdated local operations. Neither was providing the balance of advanced technology, rapid responsiveness, and personalized care that defines a thriving community.
As an HOA expert based in Alameda, I’ve built a company where communities receive the high-level strategy they need to navigate the complex California landscape of 2026, delivered with the human touch they deserve.
People have always been at the heart of my work. My journey began on the production line at the Dairy Bell ice cream factory in Melbourne. Moving pallets of ice cream to the front of house taught me my first lesson in service: behind every transaction is a person looking for a positive experience.
In 2000, that passion for service led me to Copper Mountain, Colorado. Managing a timeshare community at the resort was my introduction to the HOA world. I drew on my hospitality background to create effortless, memorable experiences for owners—ensuring that every pool, hot tub, and amenity was a source of joy, not a headache. Working onsite with vendors and board members taught me the lasting value of being present and building real relationships.
After years of traveling the world and working across the globe, I settled into full-time property management. I found my calling in an industry that is ever-changing and requires a unique blend of empathy, legal knowledge, and operational grit.
Leading California HOAs Through the 2026 Compliance Landscape
In 2023, I moved to Northern California in an executive role, eventually founding California Communities to serve the unique needs of San Francisco, Oakland, and the Island City of Alameda.
I hold the PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager) credential—the highest level of professional recognition in the industry. This is more than just a title; it represents a rigorous, peer-reviewed commitment to turning around communities with expert guidance and long-term planning.
